Author Guidelines

As part of the submission process, authors must ensure that their proposal complies with all the requirements listed below. Submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines will be returned to the authors.

  • This work, or substantial parts of it, is original and has not been submitted to other journals while awaiting an editorial decision from this publication.

  • The text has been written using the templates provided for manuscripts.

  • The word limit established by the journal is respected: 8000 for research articles, 6000 for studies, proposals, and experiences, and 1000 for reviews.

  • It includes an abstract of no more than 250 words in Spanish, along with its English translation.

  • Tables and figures are placed in their corresponding location within the text, following the guidelines of the 7th edition of the APA manual.

  • If tables or figures reproduced from other publications are included, the source is cited according to APA, 7th edition.

  • The reference list has been prepared according to the guidelines of the latest edition of the APA manual (7th edition).

General Information
The Revista Iberoamericana de Educación Musical holds legal deposit in the National Library of Spain and has ISSN 3045-624X. It is a scientific and cultural publication with an annual frequency, launched in 2024.

Currently, the Revista Iberoamericana de Educación Musical is included in the Google Scholar database.

All articles published in this journal are protected by a Creative Commons License, ensuring open access.


Scope
The journal accepts original, unpublished contributions focused on the field of music education sciences, both theoretical and practical in nature.


Guidelines for Manuscript Submission
The Revista Iberoamericana de Educación Musical accepts manuscripts in Spanish, Portuguese, English, and other languages. Texts must be unpublished and not under review by other journals. Aspects such as the timeliness and relevance of the topic, as well as the quality and organization of the content, are valued.

The maximum length is 8000 words for research articles and 6000 words for theoretical studies. Submissions must be made through the journal's OJS platform, including a file with full author information (name, affiliation, contact, ORCID), and a summary of their academic and professional background.

Works written in languages other than English must include a professional English translation, which must be covered by the authors.


Peer Review Process
Manuscripts are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process, with two reviewers assigned. In case of discrepancies between reviewers, a third reviewer will be consulted. If minor formal issues are detected, the manuscript will be returned for correction.


Structure and Presentation of Articles
Articles must include a title, abstract, and keywords in both the original language and English, following a structured format based on the nature of the manuscript (research, theoretical studies, or reviews).


Ethics and Copyright
The journal combats unethical practices such as plagiarism or duplicate publication. Authors must ensure compliance with ethical standards and obtain necessary permissions for the use of third-party materials.
